The two rivals were deadlocked in the first half. Both the Eagles and Crusaders had five shots. Juniata had two good chances in the 18th and 24th minutes but both attempts would be denied by Crusader goalkeeper Jordyn Slocum. Kerry Leonard (Cockeysville, MD/Maryvale Prep) also came up big for the Eagles as she had two saves.
In the second half, Shayna King (Easton, PA/Easton Area) had a pair of shots, one in the 48th minute and another in the 63rd, but both were off of the mark. Susquehanna would finally break the stalemate at 71:25 when Samantha Zuponic deposited a hard shot into the left corner of the net past Leonard to put the Crusaders ahead 1-0.
The Eagles continued to attack the SU zone. A corner kick by Devin Kos (Bellefonte, PA/Bellefonte Area) at 74:17 would find Lillian Dudek (Downingtown, PA/Upattinas School) who headed the ball just over the crossbar. Four minutes later, the Crusaders struck again when Alex Edelman kicked a high shot toward the goal that bounced in front of Leonard and to Zuponic who poked it in for the goal and a 2-0 Susquehanna lead.
