HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Juniata women's soccer team fell to Scranton 4-0 on Saturday afternoon at Gibbel Stadium.
The first half remained scoreless as Scranton racked up a total of 11 shots in the first half in an attempt to get past the Eagle's defense. Cati Besch (Bellefonte, Pa. / Bellefonte Area HS) saved all nine of Scranton's shots on goal to keep the play even at halftime.
The Royals started the second half strong with a goal in the first five minutes. Scraton tallied three more goals through the second half in the 56th, 63rd, and the 76th minute to shut the Eagles down.
Besch made a career-high 15 saves in a single game which is the most saves any Juniata goalie had made since 2014 when Kerry Leonard made 21 saves against Catholic.
The Eagles are set to host Pitt-Greensburg Wednesday, October 6 at 7:00 pm at Gibbel Stadium.
