WASHINGTON, Pa.- The Juniata women's soccer team picked up a 2-1 win on the road at Washington and Jefferson, Saturday afternoon at Alexandre Stadium.
Gracie French and Naomi Rich each scored for the Eagles, while Sydney Simpson had an assist. Emma Stiller made two saves in goal for the Eagles.
The Presidents broke through in the 18th minute, but their lead didn't last for long.
Fourteen minutes later, French latched onto a through-ball played over the top by Camille McRoberts. She took a touch before lacing the ball into the opposite side netting to tie things at one.
The teams were tied 1-1 at the break.
In the 69th minute, Simpson laid the ball off to Rich 25 yards out. Rich blasted a shot over the outstretched arms of the keeper and into the bottom left corner.
Juniata saw out the final twenty minutes to get the win.
The Eagles outshot the Presidents 15-8 and had a 7-4 advantage in corners. They return to action tomorrow on the road at Penn State Altoona.
