HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata women's soccer team earned their first-ever result against Wilkes as they battled back for a 1-1 draw, Saturday afternoon on Senior Day Homecoming.
Gracie French scored for the Eagles while Kylie Dries provided the assist. Emma Stiller made six saves on the day.
The Colonels had JC on the back foot in the first half as the Eagles fended off seven visitor shots.
In the 77th minute, Juniata found themselves in a pickle as a McKenna Kelley tackle was harshly considered card-worthy, and it was her second yellow of the contest.
Six minutes later, the Colonels broke through on a corner to the near post that their forward tapped in.
A few moments later, off a free kick, Dries sent a ball bouncing into the box. French beat everyone to the ball as it bounced once towards goal and nodded it past the keeper.
Juniata had to survive a couple of nervy moments in the end, including a Wilkes shot that went over the net in the final two and half minutes.
The Eagles, with two draws to their name in Landmark Conference play, will host Elizabethtown on Tuesday at 7:00.
