Juniata Women Sit Tied for Third After Day One of Landmark Championships
Baltimore, Md. – The Juniata College women's swimming team turned in an impressive opening night performance Thursday at the 2026 Landmark Conference Championships, finishing the evening tied for third in the team standings with 62 points.
200 Medley Relay – 4th Place (1:52.21)
Juniata opened the championships with a fourth-place finish in the 200 medley relay. The team of Coltan Swarts, Megan Mikell, Dani Cline, and Lakelynn Godfrey touched in 1:52.21, improving nearly four seconds from its seed time.
Swarts led off in 28.76 before Mikell clocked a 30.79 breaststroke split. Cline added a 27.07 butterfly leg, and Godfrey anchored in 25.59 to secure a top-four finish.
800 Freestyle Relay – 3rd Place (8:07.82)
The Eagles followed with a standout third-place showing in the 800 freestyle relay, finishing in 8:07.82 — nearly 10 seconds faster than their seed time.
Eleanor Smith started the relay with a 2:02.18 split, followed by Cline (2:00.93) and Delany Wetzel (2:04.42). Swarts delivered a strong anchor leg of 2:00.29 to hold off the field and lock in podium position.
Team Standings
Through five events, Juniata is tied for third overall with Drew University, trailing only Catholic and Scranton.
The Eagles return to the pool Friday as competition continues through the weekend.
