Eagles Welcome Moravian for Landmark Matchup
HUNTINGDON, Pa. – After more than a week off from competition, the Juniata College women’s tennis team will get back to action this Sunday, March 30, when they host Moravian College in a Landmark Conference dual match at 1 p.m. The Eagles are 7-1 this year suffering their only loss at Catholic University of America. Juniata bounced back from the bout with the Cardinals to roll over Lycoming College, 9-0, in the home opener on Raffensperger Tennis Courts.

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – After more than a week off from competition, the Juniata College women's tennis team will get back to action this Sunday, March 30, when they host Moravian College in a Landmark Conference dual match at 1 p.m. The Eagles are 7-1 this year suffering their only loss at Catholic University of America. Juniata bounced back from the bout with the Cardinals to roll over Lycoming College, 9-0, in the home opener on Raffensperger Tennis Courts.
Sophomore Jacklyn Renninger (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central) is on a six-match winning streak in singles play and has won 12 of 14 doubles matches with partner freshman Rachel Yurchisin (Cleveland, Ohio/Padua Franciscan). Sophomore Mitsuki Koh (Cupertino, Calif./Monta Vista) is on a hot streak of her own, winning her last five singles matches and taking eight of her last 10 decisions.
Koh and classmate Tori Gray (York, Pa./Central York) are 8-5 in doubles action while senior Megan Phillips (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) and junior Heather Waring (San Antonio, Tx./John Jay) are 10-5 in doubles and riding a three-match win streak. In eight dual matches this year, the Eagles have yet to drop a match at the No. 3, No. 5, or No. 6 singles position.
Moravian finished out an undefeated fall season in dual match action and is 10-2 overall this year. The Greyhounds have won their last three matches including back-to-back Landmark wins over Goucher College and Drew University.
Juniata is 1-4 against Moravian since entering the Landmark and earned the first win last season with a 5-4 decision in Bethlehem, Pa. The two teams finished tied for fourth in the league at the end of the last year with the Eagles earning the final place in the conference tournament by way of the head-to-head tiebreak.
The Juniata men's tennis team will also be hosting Moravian College at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
