Altoona, Pa. – Juniata women's tennis battled in a tough road match Tuesday afternoon, falling 5-2 to Penn State Altoona at the Adler Tennis Courts.
The Eagles opened strong in doubles play as Medina Yessenaliyeva and Nina Meadows teamed up for a 6-3 victory at the top spot to give Juniata early momentum. However, Altoona rallied to take wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to claim the opening point.
In singles action, Yessenaliyeva continued her dominant fall campaign, cruising to a 6-0, 6-0 sweep at No. 1 singles. Meadows followed with another win at No. 2, battling back from a first-set loss to earn a 1-6, 6-4, 10-5 victory in a third-set tiebreak. Despite several close sets throughout the lineup, Altoona secured wins in the remaining matches to close out the dual.
With the result, Juniata moves to 1-2 on the season, and that will wrap up their 2025 Fall season.
