Madison, NJ. – The Juniata women's tennis team lost a close matchup with Drew on Saturday afternoon in a tightly contested match.
Juniata picked up the doubles point with a victory at No. 1 doubles, as Medina Yessenaliyeva and Celia Navarro de Torres secured the win. Drew claimed the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles matches, but Juniata held a 1-0 lead heading into singles play.
In singles action, Juniata took match one through three as Yessenaliyeva won (6-2,6-1), Navarro de Torres won on a tie breaker, and Nina Meadows also took a tie-breaking win.
Drew claimed the remaining singles matches, resulting in a 4-3 loss for the Eagles.
The Eagles head to Lycoming on Tuesday to continue conference play.
