HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Juniata College sophomore Katrina Woods (Shirleysburg, Pa./Mount Union) has been named the Landmark Conference Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week, for her efforts on Sunday at the Susquehanna University Orange & Maroon Classic.
Woods took first place in the 3000m run with a time of 10:54.70, the best time in the Landmark thus far during the indoor season. That time would have been the third fastest time indoors in the conference during all of last season.
The Landmark Athlete of the Week accolade is the second of Woods' career; she was named Landmark Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week on March 21, 2011, after finishing 12th in the 3000m in a highly-competitive field at the Wake Forest Open.
Juniata men's and women's track and field is idle this week, but returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 4, when the squads return to Selinsgrove, Pa., to compete in the Susquehanna University Crusader Invitational.
