Shaffer in the lead after day one of Messiah Invitational heptathlon

Shaffer turned in personal best efforts in the high jump and 200m dash and a season best time in the 100m high hurdles, logging 2,564 points.
She turned in a personal best mark of 5-5 ¼ in the high jump, tied for the ninth-best mark in Division III thus far in the 2012 outdoor track season. Shaffer also had a personal best time in the 200m dash with time of 28.29 seconds.
In the 100m high hurdles, Shaffer finished with a season best time of 15.76 seconds, and she posted a mark of 26-7 in the shot put.
The heptathlon concludes on Friday with the long jump, javelin, and 800m run.
