HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Juniata College women's indoor track and field senior Katrina Woods (Shirleysburg, Pa./Mount Union) was named Landmark Conference women's track player of the week, the league announced Monday. Woods broke the Landmark and program 3,000m record with a time of 10:23.06 at the 16th Annual Bison Open & Multi this past weekend. The time was also a personal best for her in the event for both indoor and outdoor.
"It's talent and the running that we've done to this point that's gotten her there," said head coach Jon Cutright of Woods performance this year. "To run a PR, school record, and Landmark record all on the same day on February 1st, faster than any outdoor time she's ever run already, it says we're doing the right stuff."
This is not her first time in the books. Woods was the previous 3,000m record holder, setting the mark in 2013. She currently holds the fastest 800m, mile, and 3,000m times in the Landmark. She is also in the indoor record book as a member of the 2011 4x800m relay team.
