SELINSGROVE, Pa.- The Juniata women's track and field team competed at the Susquehanna University Invitational, Saturday.
In the field, Kylie Orndorf (Milheim, Pa. / Penns Valley) placed 12th in the weight throw marking 12.64m. Orndorf then placed 14th in the shot put marking 9.61m while Marylauren Davignon (Huntingdon, Pa. / Huntingdon Area) placed 26th marking 8.58m. In the long jump, Meadow Walshaw-Wertz (Sunbury, Pa. / Upper Dauphin) placed 19th marking 4.48m. Walshaw-Wertz placed 14th in the triple jump marking 9.72m.
The top finisher of the day was the 4x400m relay team. The team placed second with a time of 4:26.70. Azia Kalil (Methuen, Mass. / Methuen HS) placed second in the 3000m run, she finished with a time of 11:03.60 while Yanibel Collado (Freeport, N.Y. / Milton Hershey) finished third (11:10.15) and Abbie Echard (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin) finished 12th (11:58.61).
The women's distance medley took fourth place clocking in at 13:05.12. In the 60m hurdles, Walshaw-Wertz finished 13th with a time of 10.35. In the 60m dash, Holly Caldwell (Milford, Conn. / Jonathan Law) finished with a time of 9.04 and Sabrina Kelly (Gilberstville, Pa. / Boyertown Area HS) finished with a time of 10.18.
In the 4x200m relay, the Eagles placed 13th with a time of 1:58.69. In the mile, Mellanie Barnes (Chicago, Ill. / Holy Trinity (Ill.)) finished ninth (5:48.87) while Alexis Barge (Lititz, Pa. / Warwick) finished 29th (6:27.22). Elese Christ (Pottstown, Pa. / Pottsgrove High) finished with a time of 1:29.66 in the 400m dash. In the 800m, Julia Freimuth (York, Pa. / Cedar Cliff HS) placed 19th, crossing the line at 2:37.90 and Jessica Aragon (Bridgeport, Conn. / Bridgeport Central HS) placed 34th finishing with a time of 2:50.43.
In the 200m dash, Caldwell, Caitlyn Gasmen (Bridgewater, N.J. / Bridgewater-Raritan), and Kelly placed 38th (31.66), 39th (31.86), 43rd (33.88), respectively. In the 5000m, Rebecca Herwig (Somerset, Pa. / Somerset Area HS) placed 14th with a time of 20:57.87 and Alli Goulden (Wharton, N.J. / Morris Knolls) placed 19th with a time of 21:33.41.
Juniata returns to action next weekend as they compete in Landmark Championships hosted by Susquehanna.
