Barbacci's 2nd Place Pole Vault Finish Leads Eagles at Landmark Championships
SUSQUEHANNA, Pa. – The Juniata women's track and field team head into championship season with several strong performances at the Landmark Championships hosted by Susquehanna University. The Eagles finished in 8th place with a toal of 31 points.
Bri Spencer (Grampian, Pa. / Curwensville Area HS) had a standout weekend, finishing 11th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.02 seconds. She also took 19th in the 200 meters, clocking 27.11.
In the field events, Olivia Barbacci (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Cumberland Valley HS) cleared 3.40m to place second in the pole vault. Chloe Sauer (Middleburg, Pa. / Midd-West HS) placed nineteenth in the hammer throw with a best mark of 36.65m and added a ninth-place finish in the shot put (10.85m).
Juniata's 4x100-meter relay team of Spencer, Grace French (Waynesboro, Pa. / Waynesboro Area Senior HS), Barbacci, and Josie Kelly (York, Pa. / Kennard-Dale HS) took sixth with a time of 50.05 seconds.
Other solid efforts included Emma Coolidge (Wellsboro, Pa. / Wellsboro Area HS) placing 14th in the shot put (10.31m), and French finishing 9th in the long jump (5.25m).
