Barbacci Leads Strong Pentathlon, Vault Efforts for Juniata Women
Huntingdon, Pa. – The Juniata College women's track & field team delivered several strong performances Saturday, highlighted by a top-five finish in the pentathlon and multiple podium finishes in the pole vault.
Senior Olivia Barbacci paced the Eagles in the women's pentathlon, kicking off day one fifth overall with 2,942 points against a strong field. Barbacci's day was headlined by a win in the high jump, clearing 1.62 meters, while she also placed second in the 60-meter hurdles (9.45). She added consistent performances in the shot put, long jump, and 800 meters to secure her top-five place.
Junior Beck Mensch completed the pentathlon for Juniata, gaining valuable experience across all five events.
The women's pole vault also provided notable results for the Eagles. Junior Josie Kelly placed second overall, clearing 2.87 meters (9-5). Freshman Sienna Seufert followed with a fourth-place finish at 2.72 meters (8-11), while Rae Waight placed fifth, clearing 2.42 meters (7-11 ¼) to round out a strong showing for Juniata.
The Eagles will compete in Day Two of the invitational tomorrow afternoon.
