Women’s Track & Field Opens Season with Multiple Event Wins at Susquehanna Invitational
SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Juniata College women's indoor track and field team opened its 2025–26 campaign with event wins on the track, in the field, and in the multi-events at the Susquehanna Early Season Multi and Invitational inside the Garrett Sports Complex Field House.
In the sprints, Gracie French broke the Juniata school record in the 60-meter dash, taking second in 8.05 seconds, then came back to win the 200 in 27.02. Breanne Spencer joined her near the top of both sprint finals, placing third in the 60 (8.29) and second in the 200 (28.47), while first-year Zoey Zavorotny added a fifth-place finish in both the 60 (8.40) and 200 (28.89). Keliyah Washington, Kalisse McMillan, and Emma Arnold rounded out a deep early-season sprint group for the Eagles.
The mid-distance and distance crew also shined. Camille McRoberts won the mile in 5:49.41 and added a fourth-place finish in the 800 (2:33.97), while Olivia Brenneman pulled away to win the 3,000 meters in 11:36.94. In the 400, Chloe Reilley and Rae Waight finished ninth and 10th, respectively, before teaming with French and Spencer as the 4x400-meter relay took second in 4:41.62.
Juniata's field and multi-event athletes piled up more points and podiums. Haley Mummah won the long jump at 4.78 meters and placed fourth in the high jump (1.43m), while French (fourth, 4.61m), Spencer (fifth, 4.53m) and Josie Kelly (eighth, 4.17m) gave Juniata four scorers in the long jump. Kelly added a busy day with a fifth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles (10.88), fifth in the high jump (1.33m), and runner-up in the pole vault at 2.87 meters, where Sienna Seufert and Waight placed fourth and fifth, respectively.
In the throws, Chloe Sauer finished second in the shot put (10.78m) and third in the weight throw (13.11m), with Maycee Fox and Justice Sheaffer also competing in both events. The Eagles' multi group capped the women's performance as Olivia Barbacci placed fifth overall in the indoor pentathlon with 2,942 points – an AARTFC-qualifying total – highlighted by a win in the high jump (1.62m), a runner-up effort in the 60-meter hurdles (9.45), and top-five finishes in the long jump and 800. Rebecca Mensch completed her first collegiate pentathlon in eighth with 1,696 points, scoring in all five events.
