Coolidge Wins Javelin, French Shines as Juniata Finishes Sixth at Landmark Championships
Huntingdon, Pa. – Juniata women's track and field placed sixth at the Landmark Outdoor Championships with 45.83 points, highlighted by a conference title from Emma Coolidge and multiple scoring performances across the weekend.
Coolidge led the way with a first-place finish in the javelin, posting a personal-best throw of 38.73m that ranks among the top in Division III this season. She also added an eighth-place finish in the discus (31.17m, personal best) and competed in the shot put (9.91m).
On the track, Gracie French delivered a strong sprint performance, placing third in the 100m with a personal-best 12.43 (6 points) after qualifying in prelims, and finishing fourth in the 200m with a personal-best 25.45 (5 points). She also ran on the 4x100m relay that placed seventh (51.96).
Distance standout Ella McCrum scored in two events, placing fifth in the 1500m (4:54.72) and fifth again in the 5000m (18:12.95) to account for eight points. Camille McRoberts added a fifth-place finish in the 800m (2:23.58, 4 points), while Gracie Gioiosa scored in the steeplechase with an eighth-place finish (12:43.06).
In the field, Josie Kelly cleared 2.65m to place fifth in the pole vault (3.5 points), while Haley Mummah added points in the high jump with an eighth-place finish (1.43m, personal best). Justice Sheaffer also contributed with an eighth-place finish in the javelin (30.98m, personal best).
Additional performances included Natalie Osborne (800m, 2:29.35), Olivia Brenneman (5000m, 20:07.82), Emma Arnold (400m, 1:16.06, personal best), and Beck Mensch (100m hurdles). In the throws, Chloe Sauer competed in both the discus (28.76m) and hammer (35.86m).
Juniata's 4x400m relay placed fifth in a season-best 4:08.56, adding four points to the team total.
Scranton captured the team title with 196 points, followed by Moravian and Catholic, while Juniata's 45.83 points secured a sixth-place finish in the eight-team field.
