Women's Volleyball Advances to Landmark Finals With 3-0 Victory Over Catholic
HUNTINGDON, PA – With a dominating 3-0 (25-10, 25-19, 25-13) victory over Catholic Wednesday night, the Juniata women’s volleyball team advances to the Landmark Conference championship for the ninth straight year.

Megan Moroney (Mentor, OH/Mentor) put on a show in front of the home crowd, boasting 19 kills on 23 attacks for a .783 hitting percentage. Fellow middle Nakita Gearhart (Waynesboro, PA / Greencastle-Antrim) followed with 14 kills and a .440 hitting percentage. Moroney finished the game with one solo block and two block assists. Gearhart recorded two block assists.
Mar-Jana Phillips (Carson, CA / Rolling Hills Preparatory) finished the game with 10 kills as Brittanie Tannenbaum (Highlands Ranch, CO / Highlands Ranch) and Kristin Collins (Freedom, PA / Ambridge) each picked up four.
Juniata breezed past the Cardinals for a 25-10 win in the first set. Catholic put up a fight in the second but the Eagles pulled away for a 25-19 decision.
Juniata put up their best statistical set of the match in the third as they recorded 22 total kills and a team hitting percentage of .413.
Katie Byrne (Annapolis, MD / Broadneck) recorded 20 digs to hold down the Juniata defense. Chelsea Scafuro (Geneva, OH / Geneva) picked up 10 digs and recorded one service ace.
Kelly Reynolds (Upper Saint Clair, PA / Upper Saint Clair) finished the match with 47 assists, seven digs and two block assists.
The Eagles host the Susquehanna Crusaders in the Landmark Championships for the third year in a row. Juniata looks to earn their ninth straight conference title with a victory against the Crusaders.
