Phillips Named Landmark Athlete of the Week
TOWSON, MD – Junior outside hitter Mar-Jana Phillips (Carson, CA / Rolling Hills Preparatory) was named the Landmark Conference’s Women’s Volleyball Athlete of the Week for her play over the weekend in the Christopher Newport Invitational.
TOWSON, MD – Junior outside hitter Mar-Jana Phillips (Carson, CA / Rolling Hills Preparatory) was named the Landmark Conference's Women's Volleyball Athlete of the Week for her play over the weekend in the Christopher Newport Invitational.
Phillips boasted 38 total kills, averaged 3.45 kills per set and recorded a .395 hitting percentage at CNU. She was also named Tournament MVP.
Phillips leads the team in total kills with 121 and in kills per set at 3.46.
Across the conference, Phillips ranks third in kills per set (3.46) and is tied for fourth in number of kills (121).
This is the first athlete of the week award for Phillips. In her career at Juniata, she has been named to the Second Team All-Landmark twice, the ASICS All-Tournament team twice and in 2014, she was named to the NCAA Regional All-Tournament Team.
