Women's Volleyball Announces 2026 Class
HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata women's volleyball program has a longstanding tradition of excellence, as shown by their 14 straight Landmark Conference Championships, 40 straight conference championships overall, and 40 straight appearances in the NCAA tournament. They are also one of only two teams to appear in every AVCA national poll since its inception in 1992.
Head Coach Heather Pavlik and Associate Head Coach Casey Dale welcome eight incoming student-athletes to the team for the 2022 season.
Simone Barry (Fairfax, Virginia / W.T. Woodson HS)
Position: Middle Hitter
Club Team: Paramount Volleyball Club
Barry was a two-year varsity letter winner at WT Woodson High School. Her accumulated honors include selections to the VHSL Group 6A North Region C All-Patriot District first-team, the VHSL Group 6A North Region C All-Region second team, and Patriot District All-Tournament team.
"Simone is a well-rounded middle who will be a force at the net both offensively and defensively," said Pavlik. "Her playing abilities are enhanced by great maturity, good decision-making and a wonderful and positive demeanor. She has played at a very competitive club over the years, which will make the transition to the collegiate game smooth."
Lacie Brown (Cochranville, Pennsylvania / Avon Grove HS)
Position: Setter
Club Team: East Coast Power Volleyball KOP
Brown was a four-year letter winner and setter at Avon Grove High School. Her accolades include Chester-Montgomery County League honorable mentions her freshman and sophomore years and first-team selections her junior and senior years. She was named 2nd team All-District 1 as a junior and 1st team All-District 1 as a senior.
"Lacie is an extremely athletic setter who has grown up in the gym with her parents," said Pavlik. " She has a wonderful understanding of the game and will make those around her better. Her work ethic and desire to always be getting better will serve her well as she enters the next phase of her volleyball career. Lacie has played at a very competitive club and has played with and against very good players over the years. This will have her ready for the next level very quickly."
Jacqueline Bryant (Bay Shore, New York / Islip HS)
Positions: Outside Hitter/Opposite
Club Team: Sportime VBC
Bryant was a three-year letter winner at Islip High School. She was twice selected as the varsity team captain. Her accolades include All-County and All-County Academic team selections, made All-League and All-Tournament teams, and was selected as the Rookie of the Year. She also was named to Newsday's Top 50 Girls Volleyball Players on Long Island List.
"Jackie is a very hard-working and determined athlete," said Pavlik. " She has the ability to play on either antenna and be effective, which will put her in a great position to make this team better. We are looking forward to developing her ball control skills and watching her offensive game get to an even higher level and giving her the opportunity to grow and develop every day in the gym."
Alex Friebolin (Plant City, Florida / Strawberry Crest HS)
Position: Middle Blocker
Club Team: Florida Elite Volleyball Academy
Friebolin was a four-year letter winner in volleyball at Strawberry Crest High School. She also was a two-time letter winner in track and field. She was honored as a Western Conference Honorable Mention in 2019, was selected to the first team in 2020, and the second team in 2021.
"Alex is a very quick and explosive middle hitter with a good arm. She has played other positions in the past, which has led to a really good understanding of the game as a whole. She has developed in a great competitive environment both in high school and club, which will help her make the transition to the collegiate game much more quickly."
Audrey Muth (Portsmouth, Virginia / Peninsula Catholic HS)
Position: Outside Hitter
Club Team: Coastal Hampton Roads Volleyball Club
Muth was a four-year letter winner at Peninsula Catholic High School. She was twice selected as the varsity team captain. In 2018, she was a member of the Peninsula Catholic team that won the VISAA D2 State Championship. In 2019, she was selected to the VISAA D2 All-State first-team, All-Tournament team, All-Conference second-team, and was a PrepVolleyball Soph 79 High-Honorable Mention. She was named to the 2020 AVCA Phenom List. In her senior season, Muth was highly decorated as she was named TCIS Player of the Year and All-Conference first-team, VISAA D2 All State Player of the Year, All-Tidewater first team, AVCA Best and Brightest second-team, All-Region team, Third-Team AVCA All American, and Third-Team PrepVolleyball All American.
"Audrey is a player who has been gifted great size and physicality and can be an absolute force offensively," said Pavlik. "She has worked extremely hard to make herself better at all skills but in particular passing and defense over the last year with a very competitive club team. Her ceiling is extremely high, and we cannot wait to help her reach her potential. She also brings a very caring and compassionate personality to this group and will be a great teammate."
Sophia Repholz (Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania / Plymouth Whitemarsh HS)
Position: Libero
Club Team: East Coast Power Volleyball KOP
Repholz was a four-year letter winner at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School. As a freshman, she was a Suburban One League All-American Conference Honorable Mention. She was named to the first team for the next three years. She was also named as an All-District 4A Honorable Mention. She holds the record for career digs at Plymouth Whitemarsh, with 1,388 digs in her four seasons. She was awarded the 48th Anniversary AAU Junior National Volleyball Championships 17u Premier All-Start Award in 2021.
"Sophia has all of the best attributes that you typically consider for the libero/ds position," said Pavlik. "Her skills are really good; she has wonderful athleticism, communicates well, and is a positive life-force on the floor. She always looks like she is enjoying playing the game, and this attitude spreads to the others around her. Her experience with a very competitive club has let her see some of the best volleyball in the country and will have her ready for college."
Mia Schubert (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania / Shaler Area HS)
Position: Outside Hitter
Club Team: Revolution 18 White
Schubert was a four-year letter winner at Shaler Area High School. She also led Shaler to two consecutive WPIAL Championship appearances and an appearance in the PIAA state semi-finals, the first in Shaler's history. As a freshman, she was named to the All-Section second team. She was then named to the first team for the next three years. She earned second-team All-WPIAL honors as a sophomore before making the first team as a junior and senior. She was named to the All-Big 56 first team three times and made the All-State first team as a junior and senior. She was honored as an AAU Academic All-American Athlete and was named to the Under Armour American Volleyball Coaches Association Phenom List. She also racked up 1,014 kills in her high school career.
"Mia is just a great all-around volleyball player and will make our gym better right away," said Pavlik. "She has wonderful skills and a good head for the game. She is an upbeat teammate who others want to play beside, and we are looking forward to helping her gain more strength and reach her full potential. Mia's competitive club experience certainly has helped her be ready for the collegiate game right away."
Ryanne Whiteman (Camp Hill, Pennsylvania / Trinity HS)
Positions: Libero/ Defensive Specialist
Club Team: Fusion VBC
Whiteman was a four-year letter winner at Trinity High School. She helped her team win the PIAA Class AA State Championship in 2020 before the team returned to finish as the State Runners-Up in 2021. She was a 3-time selection to the PIAA Class AA All-State First Team and was named to the 2020 AVCA Phenom List.
"Ryanne has been around the game most of her life, and it shows," said Pavlik. "She understands the game at a high level and has great skills to go with this understanding. She has been a part of winning programs at both the high school and club level and has that winning attitude. She has had the opportunity to play with and against a lot of great players with her high level club experience, and we are really looking forward to watching her develop further in our gym.
