Juniata Women's Volleyball Releases 2025 Schedule
HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The three-time defending national champion Juniata College women's volleyball team has announced its 2025 schedule, a highly competitive and strategically built campaign that will challenge the Eagles from opening serve to final whistle. With seven nationally ranked opponents and three more receiving votes, this year's slate is one of the toughest in program history—a fitting test for a team chasing its fourth straight NCAA Division III title.
Coming off an historic stretch that includes three consecutive national championships, 17 straight Landmark Conference titles, and an unprecedented 43 consecutive conference championships, Head Coach Heather Pavlik's squad will once again carry the weight of lofty expectations into the new season. The Eagles embrace that pressure as fuel.
Early Road Test, Tournament Challenges
The season begins with an immediate test on the road at Swarthmore on Friday, August 29 at 6:30 PM. Less than 24 hours later, Juniata dives into doubleheader action against Cortland and Mass.-Boston as part of a tri-match at Swarthmore. With all three matches packed into the opening weekend, the Eagles will be looking to set the tone early against competitive regional opponents.
Juniata returns home for the ASICS Invitational on September 5–6, with matches against Marietta, Ithaca, and Muhlenberg. The home opener against Marietta on Friday at 7:00 PM should offer fans their first look at a reloaded Juniata lineup looking to extend its home dominance.
The road doesn't get any easier. The Eagles travel west for the Wittenberg Invitational, taking on perennial powerhouses Wittenberg, Transylvania, and Ohio Northern from September 12–13. All three teams have postseason experience and will provide valuable early-season benchmarks.
Home Cookin': Wid Guisler Invitational
The annual Wid Guisler Invitational, hosted in Memorial Gymnasium on September 19–20, brings a loaded field. The highlight will be a primetime Saturday matchup against Johns Hopkins, a nationally ranked rival that could be a preview of a deep NCAA Tournament clash. Earlier in the weekend, Juniata also hosts Chris. Newport and Nazareth, two programs known for their athleticism and aggressive pace.
A non-conference road trip to Franklin & Marshall on September 25 wraps up the month and prepares the Eagles for conference play.
Landmark Conference Gauntlet
Conference play opens with a challenging road weekend against Drew and Scranton on October 3–4. The matchup against Scranton—long one of the few teams capable of pushing Juniata—is circled on every calendar. The Royals will no doubt be hungry to halt Juniata's 17-year reign atop the Landmark, but the Eagles have made a habit of rising to the moment.
Juniata returns home for a critical three-match day on October 11, highlighted by Landmark showdowns with Goucher and Catholic, followed by a high-caliber non-conference bout with Messiah in the evening.
A three-match road stretch follows with trips to Lycoming, Elizabethtown, and Susquehanna, all within five days. It's a grueling mid-October test of depth and mental toughness.
Senior Night & Final Push
The regular season home finale comes on October 24–25, when Juniata hosts Moravian on Senior Night, followed by Saturday matches against Wilkes and Lebanon Valley. Expect an electric atmosphere as the Eagles honor their senior leaders, many of whom have never experienced a season without a national title.
The regular season concludes in Illinois with three final non-conference battles against Millikin, Wisconsin-Oshkosh, and host Illinois Wesleyan on October 31–November 1, all programs with postseason aspirations. The last home match will be a doubleheader on November 8 versus Penn State–Altoona and Carnegie Mellon, giving the Eagles a final tune-up before the postseason begins.
A Dynasty With No Signs of Slowing
With a storied history that includes more conference titles than any other program in Division III volleyball, and a roster stacked with expectations, experience, and championship pedigree, the 2025 season offers another chapter in Juniata's volleyball legacy. Every match, from opening day at Swarthmore to the final showdown at Illinois Wesleyan, carries weight.
