Brenneman Leads Juniata Women at Landmark Cross Country Championships
Clark, NJ. — The Juniata College women's cross country team closed out its Landmark Conference Championship meet with a solid showing, placing five runners in the top 80.
Sophomore Olivia Brenneman led the Eagles with a 32nd-place finish in a personal-best time of 24:42.07, marking her fastest 6K of the season and continuing her role as Juniata's top finisher.
First-year standout Gracie Gioiosa followed closely behind in 54th place (25:49.74), while fellow freshman Sophia Moyer ran a lifetime best of 26:04.89 to finish 57th. Cecelia Williams added a 74th-place effort (27:33.85), her fastest mark of the year, and Chloe Reilley rounded out the scoring five in 76th (27:38.15).
Juniata also saw strong finishes from Beck Mensch (27:47.98), Paige Clemmer (28:20.92, PR), and Justice Sheaffer (29:47.84, SB), while Abby Rivera Concepcion capped her debut season with a personal-best time of 33:11.76.
Moravian captured the team title behind individual champion Tara Smurla, who won in 21:26.65, leading a pack of four Greyhounds in the top ten. Catholic and Scranton rounded out the top three teams.
The Eagles will next compete at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships, where they'll look to build on their progress and close out the season on a high note.
