Greenville, Pa. – Juniata erupted for 14 runs on 17 hits to open the season with a 14-3 win over Thiel and a 5-3 win in Game two.
Zach Johnston finished 4-for-5 with four runs scored, two RBI, a double, and a triple. Connor Blough went 3-for-5 with three runs scored and an RBI. Jace Irvin was 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored, including a double.
David Beard added two hits and three RBI, while Landon Blank went 2-for-5 with an RBI. Ricky Scott recorded a hit, an RBI, a walk, and two stolen bases. Charlie Bakken doubled and drove in a run. Ethan Pfeffer scored twice and walked twice.
On the mound, Aidan Chermol earned the win, allowing three runs on two hits over four innings with two strikeouts. Hunter Thomas picked up the save, tossing three scoreless innings with three strikeouts.
Juniata completed the sweep with a 5-3 victory over Thiel in Game two behind six hits and a strong start on the mound.
