Pittsburgh, Pa. – The Juniata baseball team fell to Chatham, 6-5 at West Field on Thursday evening.
Juniata scored three runs in the fourth inning to take the lead. Ayden Thelen hit a solo home run, Ricky Scott added an RBI single, and Connor Blough followed with an RBI double.
The Eagles added two more runs in the fifth. Matthew Koehler brought in a run with a sacrifice fly, and Scott delivered an RBI double.
Scott led the offense, going 2-for-2 with two RBI and a run scored. Zach Johnston finished 3-for-4 with a walk, while Thelen added a home run, an RBI, two runs scored, and three walks.
Ethan Pfeffer recorded a hit and two walks, and Blough added a hit and an RBI.
On the mound, Max Dupes started and allowed two runs over 2.1 innings. Krieg Pierce tossed 3.2 scoreless innings. Aidan Chermol allowed one run in one inning.
Blough took the loss after allowing three runs (two earned) in the ninth inning.
