WASHINGTON, D.C.- The Juniata women's lacrosse team lost to Catholic University, 17-3, in the Landmark Semifinals Thursday afternoon at Carlini Field.
Peyton Goodrich, Devyn Mauger, and Kyndall Yeager scored one goal each, while Kelliann Drummond and Ella McGlaughlin had one assist each. Mikayla Bodley made six saves in goal for the Eagles.
Catholic struck first, two minutes into the game. Mauger got one back for the Eagles a minute and a half later, on a free position shot. The Cardinals scored two more goals over the next 10 minutes before Drummond set up Yeager to bring JC back within one. The hosts scored three more goals as Juniata trailed by four, 6-2, after one.
Catholic scored four goals in the second and five in the fifth to build a 15-2 lead.
McGlaughlin found Goodrich for the game's final goal, which proceeded two more Cardinal goals, to complete the scoring.
Juniata is now 9-9.
