HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata women's lacrosse team lost to visiting Susquehanna University, 17-9, on Wednesday evening at Gibbel Stadium.
Skyler Stevens scored three goals on the day, while Ella McGlaughlin and Elayna Stubbe each tallied two goals and an assist. Mara Gallo added two goals, while Mikayla Bodley had five caused turnovers, four ground balls, and four draw controls. Devyn Mauger scooped up eight draw controls. Caoilinn Heatley made saves in goal while Francesca Ditsky made six.
The River Hawks scored the game's first three goals before Stevens found the back of the net for the Eagles. SU scored another goal before Stubbe dodged through the defense and scored. Juniata trailed 5-2 after one.
SU had a 7-3 advantage in the second, with the Eagles getting goals from Stube Gallo and McGlaughlin. Juniata ended the first half down 12-5.
The third quarter was a defensive battle, with Susquehanna scoring the only two goals of the frame.
Juniata won the fourth quarter, 4-3, and got two goals from Stevens, along with one each from McGlaughlin and Gallo.
The Eagles will celebrate their seniors at home prior to the start of the next game against Goucher, Saturday at 1:00.
