Juniata Closes Season Against Catholic in 18-6 Battle
Washington, D.C. – The Juniata women's lacrosse team fell to Catholic, 18-6, on Wednesday afternoon at Carlini Field.
Catholic jumped out to an early 3-0 lead, but Juniata responded with three straight goals to tie the game in the first quarter. Elayna Stubbe got the Eagles on the board, followed by a free position goal from Skyler Stevens, and Mackenzi Nafziger finished the run off an assist from Devyn Mauger to even things at 3-3.
The Cardinals answered with three late goals in the first quarter and carried that momentum into the second, outscoring Juniata 7-0 in the period to take a 13-3 lead into halftime.
Juniata found the back of the net early in the third quarter as Skyler Stevens scored her second goal of the game, but Catholic continued to control the pace, adding two more goals in the period and three in the fourth.
In the final quarter, Ella McGlaughlin scored unassisted and later assisted on a goal by Kyra Shipley to close out the scoring for the Eagles.
Stevens led Juniata with two goals, while Stubbe, Nafziger, McGlaughlin, and Shipley each added one. Mauger and McGlaughlin each recorded assists.
In goal, Caoilinn Heatley made 12 saves over 55 minutes of action, while Francesca Ditsky played the final minutes in relief.
Juniata will end the 2026 season with a 4-12 overall record and a 3-5 conference record.
